Whether you’re running or strolling, why not report and dispose of trash along your route? This app helps you easily share the location and type of debris with scientists and planners. Thousands of people just like you have reported over 2 MILLION pieces of litter and debris all over the world! Plus, even though the app is called Marine Debris Tracker, you don’t have to be at the beach to participate!

Virtually leave your office/conference room/person-cave far behind and tag Costa Rican wildcats and their prey with the Osa Camera Track Network! You’ll soon help scientists ID the exotic creatures you’ll see in the project’s thousands of camera trap photos.

Settle your jangled nerves by finding a quite place to measure noise pollution. Focus your big brain on the Silent Earth decibel-meter, as it validates your sense of quiet serenity.

While most of our SciStarter projects fulfill this resolution, consider signing up for GLOBE Mosquito Habitat Mapper to help scientists track and control mosquito-borne diseases that threaten millions of people worldwide.

This is, admittedly, an outlier of a resolution, but January 21st happens to be National Squirrel Appreciation Day. With not one but two squirrelly CitSci projects in our catalog, how can we let that opportunity go by?
